Pelican Island
forms the north bank of the Port of Galveston. On this island is the Texas A&M University, Marine Campus, Bludworth Shipbuilding and Repair, and Seawolf Park. Seawolf Park has a submarine, jet plane and destroyer escort. It had a quarantine station 40 years or more ago. One of the WWII concrete hull ships is beached on the east side. It is a really nice spot, especially in the summertime.

Here is the web page for the park.  http://www.galveston.com/seawolfpark/

These ships are in the Galveston anchorage. They may be waiting docks at Galveston, Texas City, Bay Port, Barbors Cut or Houston. View looking south from the ferry. Photo taken about 1987.
