through June 2008
we
condensed and recovered over 80 tons (74,800 kg) of VOC. That is 80
tons
less
air pollution in the air around the Houston Ship Channel and places we
work.
That means that PURGIT degassed tanks using our proprietary system to
condense the vapors rather than burning them in a combustor.
Condensing is a better method of vapor control because it
cleans the tank vapors as it recovers the VOC back to
liquid. It can handle
concentrated
vapors at high flow rates, something most mini combustors cannot match.
Our 650 scfm (1,100 m3hr) condenser performs at 650 scfm from the first
minute.
Therefore rich vapors in tanks are removed faster, perhaps 10 times
faster than mini combustors or IC engines. Our condensers produce zero
NOx or other combustion by-products because PURGIT condensers do not
burn or combust and they do not have exhaust stacks. That means no
process emissions and the recovered condensate can be recycled! If you think is

PURGIT uses multiple condensers to refrigerate the tank vapors,
condensing them to liquid, which can be recycled. Non condensable
gases like nitrogen are returned to the storage tank. The condensers
are swapped when the pressure differential increases. This system
handles many chlorinated solvents, gasoline and other chemicals.

vapor control,
